More and more horse people are realising the benefits of knowledge and education when caring for or riding horses. An awareness of your horse’s needs and physiology can help reduce vets bills, save money and improve your horses performance, health and well being.
Unfortunately, many employers seem to hold with the opinion that the colleges were out of touch with the needs of the horse and equine industry and are producing students who are unprepared for the demands or requirements of the equine world.
In addition, the traditional methods of education are not always the best way to learn for many people. During my time working and training with professionals such as Jennie Loriston Clarke I gained a true appreciation of the requirements of the industry and while lecturing in an Equine College I saw students who were being poorly prepared and were leaving their studies as they became disillusioned or suffered under financial pressures. Others were keen to study but were unable to commit to the time or sacrifices involved in becoming a full time student.
Appreciation of these issues made me feel that there was a real need for a more open, flexible method of training that could support the valuable practical training that occurs within the industry and allow the student to train in their own time frame and while earning .
After many positive discussions with some of the top people in the industry, including international dressage trainer Dane Rawlins, Horses and Courses was launched !
Horses and Courses is dedicated to providing up-to-date, informative materials that balance the demands of the industry with the academic requirements of further education.
Our experienced equine staff are committed to making sure you receive the best training and support available so you can fulfil your own educational needs.
We look forward to welcoming you on board.
