Open
learning is the title given to any structured learning plan
where the student studies course material away from a college
or university, usually at home.
This
form of study also goes under the names of 'Home Study Courses',
'Correspondance Courses' and ' Distance Learning Courses'
With grants becoming non-existent & many people unable to
fund themselves or leave home to attend a college course,
open learning is becoming the preferred method of education.
It lacks many of the drawbacks of studying in a College or
University:
-
You have control over your learning .
- Your
studies can be tailored to your individual requirements.
- There
is no travel involved.
- You
do not need to live away from home.
- You
do not need to arrange for child care.
- You
can work the hours that suit you.
- You
can continue to work while studying
- You
can select subjects you want to study.
- You
can study the theoretical aspects at home while gaining
practical experience on yards.
- You
can work at your own pace.
- You
can live anywhere in the world but still have access to
high quality tuition.
